Jon Jones Vs Alexander Gustafsson Officially Set For UFC 232, DC Will Be Stripped

The UFC Light Heavyweight Title Fight Between Jon Jones And Alexander Gustafsson Is Slated For UFC 232!

There were rumors Jon Jones will fight Alexander Gustafsson again. But not anymore. It is officially slated for UFC 232 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for December 29th, 2018.

According to the report of Ariel Helwani from ESPN.com, the current two-division champion, Daniel Cormier, is going to be stripped of the title. It will happen as soon as these two old rivals cross their gloves.

Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson have already fought once at UFC 165. The match was held on September 21, 2013. While everybody was expecting a clean victory for Bones, The Mauler shocked the world. He even landed a brutal spinning back elbow which cut Jones open. The Swedish superstar also became the first man who took Jon Bones Jones down. Jones won via unanimous decision but it is still remembered as one of the best title matches ever!

Jon Jones didn’t fight since his match versus Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 on July 29, 2017. Jones officially won the fight via head kick but it was later overturned to no contest. Bones was positive on Turinabol but he somehow slipped through with an only 15-month ban. Great success, considering the fact he is a repeated offender! It looks like substantial assistance rule saved him that time. Jones was later charged with snitching in exchange for a reduced sentence. Yet, Jones denied he has ever done something like that.

Alexander Gustafsson defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 109 on May 28, 2017. After the match was ended, he proposed his girlfriend. The Mauler hasn’t fought since.

You can bet this will be one of the best spectacles. Is there a better way to close 2018? The rematch of two real warriors! Gustafsson has improved his skills a lot since their defeat. Jon Jones has never been knocked out but he was absent for a long period of time. Do you believe Alexander Gustafsson can shock the world one more time and defeat Bones?
