Joe Rogan Explains Lofty Calorie Requirement For His ‘Sober October’ Challenge

Joe Rogan is heading into another intense October. 

Joe Rogan is known mostly for his work at UFC events, commentating, and for his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.” He has created a cult following by people all over the world. His show is the most popular podcast of all time and his views are shared with millions of people. Whether he is talking about MMA, world politics, health, or more, people are tuning in to see and hear what he has to say. 

Every year Rogan and a few buddies join each other in a competition-style diet and fitness regimen they call “Sober October.” The goal of this challenge is to get as healthy as possible in the month of October. The idea is to not drink or do drugs the entire month. They also have strict dietary and exercise guidelines for all parties. Rogan explained some of this on a recent episode of his show.

“One must workout every day, one must burn 500 calories in a workout every single day,” he explained. “Seven days a week, 365 days, well 30.”

Rogan is a fanatic about exercise and health. Many of his podcast guests are experts in the fields of health, longevity, and exercise. He himself works out religiously and is always trying to get others to do the same. Rogan will complete this challenge with his friends Bert Kreischer, Ari Shaffir, and Tom Segura. He explained that in the past they set a calorie competition but it got too out of hand. He explained that one time he did seven hours of cardio in a day. 

People all over the world will be joining Rogan and company in taking on this challenge. In the past, they have worn wearable devices to track the calories they burn, and fans could buy and wear the same to keep up.
