  • Joe Rogan was shocked and entertained after Sean Strickland dropped Israel Adesanya at UFC 293
  • The UFC commentator thinks Strickland vs. Adesanya rematch would be an even bigger spectacle

Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan was in awe of Sean Strickland’s stunning knockdown on Israel Adesanya in Round 1 of their UFC 293 title fight. The famous podcaster tuned in closely until the final bell and shared his thoughts on Strickland’s striking and the epic middleweight title bout.

Joe went Nuts

Rogan wasn’t on the commentary table when he witnessed how “Tarzan” dropped Izzy with a right hand. However, the veteran UFC commentator’s reaction upon seeing Adesanya get floored was still priceless.

“Oww!!! Oh my God! Holy sh*t!,” Rogan reacted. “Izzy just got cracked. Holy sh*t. That’s what I’m telling you, bro. He got tuned up there.”

Still stunned by Strickland, Rogan went on and raved about “Tarzan’s” boxing skills and how Alex Pereira contributed to it.

“[Strickland] He said Pereira really helped him show the holes that [Adesanya] he had in his defense… Pereira helped him a ton. If you watch him spar Pereira too, it’s so funny because it’s like pitty-pat sparring, he’s being very smart like he doesn’t want to f**king go to war with Pereira in the gym,” he recounted while watching the fight.

“Dude, Sean can f**king box and if the majority of the fight is boxing, which it is so far, he’s got a good chance here man, and you just saw it with that right hand, like look how good his jab is,” he added.

Joe wished he was there live

After five rounds, Strickland was declared the winner via unanimous decision. Rogan said he was certain Strickland would get his hand raised. suggested that a rematch would definitely be massive but ultimately, he regrets the fact that he wasn’t cage-side to see the incredible match.

“The rematch is 100% big money, and that’s what would be smart to do… Unbelievable, he f**king did it. That wild motherf**ker is the middleweight champion of the world. God, I wish I was there,” Rogan said.

UFC president Dana White called for a rematch between Adesanya and Strickland right after UFC 293. Stating the obvious, Rogan would definitely ensure to be there live in the second showdown.
