UFC Color Commentator Joe Rogan Says It’s A Shame TJ Dillashaw Tested Positive For EPO

The year 2019 has not been fruitful for TJ Dillashaw. Earlier this year in the main headline of UFC on ESPN+1 Dillashaw suffered a first-round knockout loss to Flyweight champion Henry Cejudo from Brooklyn, N.Y. Then he went on to surrender his bantamweight title
following an ‘adverse finding’ by (USADA) U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) suspended him on the spot for one-year suspension retroactive to Jan. 19 2019. Earlier this week USADA dropped a hammer by handing TJ two years of suspension for EPO use.

TJ’s EPO scandal was rumbling across the mixed martial arts (MMA) landscape for some time now. His past Team Alpha Members have accused him of using (PEDs) but also taught everyone on the camp how to do it.

Dillashaw’s former strength and conditioning coach also said TJ defeated by ‘demon of self-doubt’ even his another coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig, said ‘it’s inexcusable’ following EPO findings.

The 135-pound title is up for grab at UFC 238 main event between Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes.

Now UFC color commentator Joe Rogan weighs-in on TJ Dillashaw’s recent two years of suspension following a failed drug test. (h/t MMAJunkie)

“To me, it’s a shame because I’m a T.J. fan. I think he’s a phenomenal fighter and I’m a big fan of watching him perform. But it just taints his legacy. It just does. There’s no way around it. When you get caught cheating – this stuff, there’s no way it’s not cheating. This is just cheating. This isn’t any accident. It taints your legacy, and the guy had an amazing legacy: two-time bantamweight champion, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters.”

Many other pro-fighters also goes off on Dillashaw following his suspension. Now Joe Rogan also goes ballistic on TJ for how much EPO in your system would have helped you for your fight against Henry.

“T.J.’s an amazing fighter, but (expletive),” Rogan said. “To test positive for EPO in the Henry Cejudo fight … You’ve got to think, if you’re on EPO – how much does that allow you to train extra time? How much does it allow you to recover? What is the quantifiable benefit? It must be pretty significant. … I almost want to try it.”

Dillashaw can return to action on Jan. 18, 2021. By the time he’s back, TJ would be few weeks shy of his 35th birthday.
