Joe Rogan called out Juan Carlos Pelayo for his 96-93 scorecard in Tyson Fury’s favor against Francis Ngannou

On October 28, Ngannou showcased one of the most unexpected boxing performances of all time, as he nearly beat the WBC heavyweight champion. Despite securing a knockdown and winning several rounds clearly, ‘The Predator’ lost by split decision (96-93, 95-94, and 94-95).

There’s no doubt the heavyweight clash was close, but some people, including Joe Rogan, were furious about Juan Carlos Pelayo’s 96-93 scorecard. During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan explained his point of view on Fury vs. Ngannou to Elon Musk by saying:

“[Francis Ngannou] knocked down Tyson Fury in the third round, beat him up in the eighth round. Most people, including me, thought he should have won the decision, including most boxers, most boxing pundits. He lost by one point on one judge’s scorecard. He won on one judge’s scorecard, another judge, who should go to jail, had it 96-93 for Tyson Fury, which is f*cking outrageous.”

Francis Ngannou’s impressive performance against Tyson Fury has made it a near guarantee that he will fight in another high-profile boxing match. With that said, he also signed a contract with the PFL to make a return to MMA in 2024.

Ngannou recently assured fans he plans to continue fighting in both combat sports moving forward.

Joe Rogan wants to see a rematch between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury

Shortly after October 28, combat sports fans began throwing out names for who Francis Ngannou should fight next in boxing. The top-tier heavyweights primarily mentioned were Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz, and Deontay Wilder.

Meanwhile, Joe Rogan wants to see Ngannou face Tyson Fury in a rematch. Rogan had this to say on Instagram last weekend:

“Congrats to the great and powerful @francisngannou on a spectacular performance. I hope they run it back.”

Regardless of what’s next for Francis Ngannou, it’ll be difficult for anyone to underestimate him with reasoning. The 37-year-old has proven he can beat anyone in MMA or boxing, which should lead to several more blockbuster fights before he retires.
