A dream-come-true

Speaking to ESPN MMA, an emotional Jedrzejczyk opened up about how her UFC Hall of Fame induction meant a lot to her both professionally and personally.

“I have to be honest with you, it was one of my biggest dreams, after becoming a UFC fighter and UFC champion, becoming a Hall of Famer,” Jedrzejczyk said. “My biggest dream just came true. I [wasn’t] ready to fully retire, but I am. I won’t fight anymore. So I need to make some changes in my life, but it’s tough, because I love you guys.”

An advice for the younger generation

As one of the greatest UFC women’s fighters of all time, Jedrzejczyk pointed out that it is important for the up-and-coming fighters to always be grateful to the promotion. The Polish MMA legend also left them some words of encouragement.

“I’m a manager right now so I always teach young fighters and fighters in general like you can’t forget about these people who are working behind the scenes you know, who are preparing their shows because very often the fight is like, ‘It’s all about me,'” Jedrzejczyk said.

“I always tell the young fighters like we all work for these three letters and amazing letters: UFC and it’s been an honor,” she added. “… You have to believe in yourself and chase your dream and anything and everything is possible like UFC, Dana [White], they changed my life.”

Jedrzejczyk retired after suffering a KO loss to Weili Zhang at UFC 275 in 2022. Despite the devastating defeat, Jedrzejczyk is still considered a legend and one of the best fighters of her generation.

Jedrzejczyk made her UFC debut in 2014. Known for her exceptional striking and determination, Jedrzejczyk quickly rose through the ranks in the strawweight division. In 2015, Jedrzejczyk claimed the UFC strawweight championship by defeating Carla Esparza. She successfully defended her title five times, the most in the division all time.

Jedrzejczyk made a name for herself not only by dominating her division but also putting on entertaining fights. Throughout her UFC career, Jedrzejczyk earned a reputation as one of the most dominant champions in the history of the women’s divisions. She finished her legendary career with a 16-5 record.
