Jessica Andrade Willing To Rematch Rose In Her Hometown
It has been about two weeks since Jessica Andrade dethroned Rose Namajunas in Brazil. Now the new strawweight champ is offering to give an immediate rematch to Rose.
At UFC 237, Rose Namajunas seemed to be on another level. That is, until she was literally on another level; in the air then slammed on her head. Although Jessica Andrade was the rightful winner that night, Rose was getting the better of her. Andrade is aware of the controversy surrounding her victory, and is willing to silence doubters.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Andrade spoke on her willingness to face Rose. Not only that, but she is willing to return the favor by competing in Rose’s hometown of Denver, Colorado. (via BJPenn.com)
“The person that I would really like to fight again would definitely be Rose. Because she did a very nice act of kindness to me by going to Rio to defend her belt — she had no obligation to do that. And if she ever wants to fight again for the belt, I know she’s figuring some stuff out, but if she wants to do it I’ll be happy to go to Denver and defend in her hometown the same way she did to me.”
However, as Jessica alludes to, Rose has been uncertain about her fighting future. So with that said, Andrade is also looking at other potential matches.
“If Rose doesn’t want to do it, probably the winner of Nina [Ansaroff] and Tatiana [Suarez] would be the most worthy of the next title fight. But, in the UFC you never know so I’m just training and getting ready because I know that there’s a lot of tough girls coming up very soon.”
There are plenty of match-ups on the horizon for Jessica Andrade.
