Atlanta, GA – Desperate times calls for desperate measures, and former UFC fighter Jeremy Stephens was very desperate this morning.
During the PFL 4 official weigh-ins Thursday morning, Stephens shaved his head and beard to make weight. ‘Lil Heathen’ was the last fighter to weigh in with only minutes to spare.
Controversy
There was some controversy with Stephen’s weigh-in. MMA reporter Amy Kaplan pointed out that Stephens wasn’t entirely on the scale when he weighed in. Stephens stepped on the scale three separate times, but he wasn’t entirely on it all three times.
“I call bullshit on that weigh-in, he was NOT standing fully on the scales #PFL4 but, called at 156 pounds,” Kaplan wrote.
PFL 4
Stephens makes his second appearance in PFL Friday, June 17, against Myles Price. In his PFL debut, Stephens lost a unanimous decision to Clay Collard in a Fight of the Year contender back in April. The former UFC fighter is on a six-fight losing streak, with losses to Jose Aldo, Calvin Kattar, Yair Rodriguez, Mateusz Gamrot, and recently retired Zabit Magomedsharipov.
PFL 4 goes down this Friday in Atlanta, GA, on ESPN+ and ESPN.
