Israel Adesanya likes what he has been seeing from Alex Volkanovski ahead of UFC 298.

Volkanovski is set for a pivotal matchup in his MMA career. At UFC 298, “The Great” will be fighting for more than just maintaining possession of the UFC Featherweight Championship. He’s fighting to show the world that they’ve forgotten just how elite he is. It’ll be no easy task, as Volkanovski will be putting his gold at stake against Ilia Topuria. Fans also remember that in Volkanovski’s last fight, he suffered a head kick knockout loss to Islam Makhachev.

As far as Israel Adesanya is concerned, Volkanovski is in a great head space ahead of his next fight.

Alex Volkanovski Looking “Sharp” Says Israel Adesanya

Alex Volkanovski posted a fresh video on his YouTube channel, and it shows his City Kickboxing teammate heaping praise on “The Great.” Adesanya said he was meeting with Volkanovski to see where his mind was at near the end of fight camp.

“I’m gonna just stay to see Volk in the home stretch,” Israel Adesanya said. “… I wanna see him in his house on the home stretch, see where his mindset’s at, see how sharp he is and draw energy from it. That’s why I’m here.”

“The Last Stylebender” got exactly what he needed to see from Alex Volkanovski. He’s confident that his teammate will be able to handle business against Ilia Topuria on fight night.

“Sharp, blade,” Adesanya said of Volkanovski. “My man, he’s on. I like what he said in one of the leadups. He said, ‘How quickly they forget,’ and I know that feeling. How quickly they forget, but again, this is where we come through. It’s time to remind them. So, he’s about to do that in Anaheim.”

UFC 298 goes down inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on February 17. Here is the full video of Israel Adesanya meeting with Alex Volkanovski before his massive title fight in the next UFC pay-per-view event:
