UFC middleweight Israel Adesanya is no longer a UFC champion but he is still a UFC fan. Following all of his success inside the Octagon, Adesanya has become one of the most followed fighters in the UFC. He has a very popular YouTube channel with original content including fight breakdowns and live reactions. He recently posted a video of himself watching the UFC Orlando card and reacting to some of the bouts on the main card.

In particular, Adesanya seemed very interested in the main event. The card featured a welterweight bout between former title contender Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland as the headliner. Coming into the bout both men decided that they would keep the fight on the feet and stand and bang with each other. The fight played out just as they expected in what some believed could be a Fight of the Year candidate.

Israel Adesanya had some live pointers for both Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland

Adesanya filmed himself watching the full main event bout. He was a bit critical of some of the gameplan choices by the two men. He called for more kicking and even thought there was a bit too much “nice guy stuff” thrown in. Thompson has jokingly named himself the “Nicest MFer” in the UFC. He doesn’t talk trash or fight dirty, he gives high fives in the cage. However, Adesanya thought some of the niceness could be a ploy to get a reset.

“All that nice guy sh-t like high five, hug-hug, you break the rhythm you give the other guy time to reset,” Adesanya said. “He resets your Rhythm by doing that when he goes oh high five he resets your rhythm.”
Adesanya also threw a little shade Holland’s way. Several times during the video he referred to Holland as a “crackhead.”

“Crackheads never get knocked down,” he said. “oh my God you can’t drop a crackhead, you can never drop a crackhead how are you gonna drop a crackhead?”
In the end, the fight was stopped due to a hand injury suffered by Holland. Adesanya thought it was a good stoppage. He felt that the two had put on a good show for the fans and that Holland should take care of himself so he can fight another day. A similar thing has been said by people regarding Adesanya’s last bout and the stoppage of that fight.
