Former bantamweight champion Holly Holm meets former Invicta FC champion Megan Anderson at UFC 225 in the first non-title women’s featherweight bout.
The matchup first reported by the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.

Since ‘Preachers Daughter’ famously handed Ronda Rousey her first career defeat in stunning fashion at UFC 193 back in 2015, Holm has four defeats in her last five outings. Holm last fought Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title at UFC 219 but lost the bout via a unanimous decision.
Holm recently said she has no intent on retiring anytime soon. The bout will be contested at 145 pounds, and the winner will eventually be facing champion Cris Cyborg next.
Megan Anderson last fought in January 2017, scoring a knockout win over Charmaine Tweet to claim the Invicta FC women’s featherweight title, and riding a four-fight win streak.
Australian was supposed to make her UFC debut against Cris Cyborg back in July 2017 but was pulled out of the bout in late June for undisclosed personal reasons.
UFC 225 is set to take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on June 9th is headlined by a rematch between champion Robert Whittaker and challenger Yoel Romero for middleweight title fight. Meanwhile, the co-main event features Rafael dos Anjos, and Colby Covington will square off for the interim welterweight title.
