It’s ‘Blessed’ vs. ‘Almighty’ at UFC Kansas City.
Former UFC Champion Max Holloway returns to action against the streaking Arnold Allen in a key featherweight matchup.
Round 1:
Allen lands a ‘nut shot’ on Holloway which stalls the action for a moment. Allen lands a great left hand on Holloway. Holloway punches the body of Allen multiple times. Allen attempts headkicks but they are blocked by Holloway over and over again. Holloway is aggressive on the feet, landing punches to the head on the regular.
Round 2:
Allen lands a huge left hand on the head of Holloway. Allen continues to crack Holloway, finding a home for his left hand. Holloway works the jab. Holloway mixes it up, punching to the body and head of Allen. Holloway lands a beautiful body kick. Allen throws a left hook. Holloway attempts a spinning back kick but it doesn’t land.
Round 3:
Holloway blitzes Allen with a combo which pushes Allen back. Allen fires off a 1-2 which partially lands. Allen tries to catch Holloway with his powerful left hand but Holloway successfully evades each time. They constantly circle each other. Holloway fires off brutal body kicks which find their target. Holloway throws a spinning elbow to end the round.
Round 4:
Allen lands a headkick but Holloway is unfazed. Holloway finds striking success, racking up his punches with effective combos. Holloway works the body. Allen can’t seem to land too much strikes as Holloway is a fast-moving target.
Allen finally lands a good left hand. Holloway barely misses on a spinning back kick. Allen lands a spinning back kick to the body of Holloway. Round ends.
Round 5:
Allen pumps up the gas, throwing big punches against the former champion. Allen keeps rushing in but Holloway returns with a clean knee. Allen lands a punch to the body of Holloway. Body kick lands for Holloway. Allen clinches up with Holloway, pressing him against the cage. They separate. Allen throws a 1-2 (which doesn’t land) and ends the combo with a big headkick.
Holloway catches Allen with a couple of body kicks. Holloway trips, gets back up and Allen throws a headkick. Allen clinches with Holloway once again, fighting for control. Allen follows up a brutal knee with punches but Holloway absolutely wobbles Allen with his own strikes in the final seconds of the fight.
