Henry Cejudo may not be Sean Shelby, but he’s got some matchmaking plans for next year.

The former two-division UFC Champion confirmed on his YouTube channel that he is targeted to fight current champ Aljamain Sterling at UFC 285 on March 4th. But, he doesn’t want all the spotlight on himself. Cejudo wants Jon Jones to join in on the fun by fighting for the heavyweight title in the headliner.

‘One of the biggest cards of the year’

It is still unknown who ‘Bones’ will fight in his return, but Cejudo believes it should be no other than the ‘baddest man in the world’, Francis Ngannou. And that seems to be what the UFC wants as well.

“Jones is ready,” Cejudo said. “Jones has has called me on several occasions. I want to see if I can be the first camp or what not. The fact that I’m making a comeback now, I like to be in the same event with Jonny ‘bones’ Jones.

“I think if Francis Ngannou could step it up and then me and Aljamain co-main event, I think that’s gonna be one of the biggest cards of the year.”

Cejudo: Don’t Sleep On Jon Jones

Cejudo, who has spent some time training Jones, details what makes Jones so dangerous ahead of his highly-anticipated heavyweight debut. Ngannou or not at UFC 285, ‘Triple C’ believes Jones is more than ready.

“If there’s any guys that you don’t sleep on, it is Jon Jones,” Cejudo continued. “This three year layoff that he’s had has only increased his motivation. Him coming to Fight Ready a few times to train with us, to learn from us and Jon doesn’t leave home. Jon’s a family man. He loves his kids, his family.

“How is it that Jon Jones is making light heavyweight for so long? He’s a big guy, man. 6’4, he is probably weighing about 250 [lbs]. I think whether it’s, whether it’s Francis Ngannou or Curtis Blaydes, I think they’re all gonna fall to the web of Jon Jones. I don’t think it matters. I think Jones is, is a better competitor than he is a fighter and I think that’s what makes him dangerous.”
