Henry Cejudo wants to give Robert Whittaker a few tips.

Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo is set to return to the UFC in the next week. He has been absent from the UFC for three years but still believes he has what it takes to become champion. During his active time in the UFC, Cejudo was the best at 125 and 135 pounds. He decided to retire back in 2020, but now has the itch to get back to business. During his hiatus, he was not totally removed from the MMA fight game. He spent his day training some of the best fighters in the world. Now that he is back in the Octagon himself he can’t shut off that coach’s mentality.

Cejudo was doing a fight week interview with Fox Sports Australia when he was asked a question by former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Instead of focusing on himself, Cejudo stated his desire to link up with Whittaker and teach him a thing or two.

Henry Cejudo has a plan to help Robert Whittaker defeat Israel Adesanya

During his time away from active fighting, Cejudo welcomed some of the biggest names in the sport to his gym. He has helped Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, Zhang Weili, Deiveson Figueiredo, and more. In addition to helping fighters in his Arizona gym, Cejudo also provides in-depth breakdowns on his YouTube channel. Many believe that Cejudo is one of the greatest analytical minds in MMA and he would like to share what he knows with Whittaker.

“Robert you already know, you see my fight piece that I did on you. I do believe you can reclaim that 185 pound title. Find and bring the engineers to you, learn, learn how to use your leverage by jumping into other positions rather than losing them. Recognizing that this is a little bit more, adjusting your stance, that lead leg, I mean, that can be the biggest difference for Robert Whittaker when he defeats Israel Adesanya,” he said. “I’ve never chased anybody, Robert, but there’s one guy that I really like to teach and really dissect this, beyond the clinch. It’s actually you bro. “

Whittaker is set to return to the cage in July when he takes on Dricus du Plessis in a title eliminator bout. His hope is to get another chance at the UFC title and Israel Adesanya whom he lost to twice already. Perhaps if he takes Cejudo up on his offer he can have a whole new bag of tricks for the possible third fight.
