As announcements finally trickle in for what is supposed to be the most gigantic show this year, UFC 205 aka UFC NYC aka UFC MSG still doesn’t have an event that makes your mouth drop to the floor and lick up ants.
Last night, Daniel Cormier ruled out a fight with Anthony Johnson for the card. Just tonight, Tyron Woodley just confirmed his Welterweight title defense against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson for New York, which helps, but doesn’t seem like the main event for the super mega ultra card it is supposed to be. That’s where Conor McGregor versus Eddie Alvarez for two damn titles comes in.
Even Chael Sonnen predicted it and many MMA media members keep tweeting literally every day that is it close. Of course, the hang up has to be McGregor. Most likely, the crux of the issue is to keep the belt once again for the double championship gimmick, and/or more money…and/or already leveraging the double title defense for unreliable Jose Aldo in Irelands and not in Vegas or Brazil.
Nothing is certain in MMA, but you might as well get prepared to hype this shit. So, here’s this cool video.
