- Francis Ngannou is not losing hope that a showdown with Jon Jones will still happen
- The PFL is open to work hand-in-hand with the UFC for the super fight
A lot has already been said and written about the talked-about potential heavyweight showdown between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones. However, nothing really ever materialized even to this day when “The Predator” is no longer with the UFC.
Instead, Ngannou managed to secure a super boxing match with Tyson Fury but in his head, a fight with “Bones” is still possible.
It’s all up to the UFC
Speaking to Ariel Helwani at the MMA Hour, Ngannou pointed out that the only setback in making the fight with Jones happen is the UFC. For “The Predator,” if the UFC would just be willing to tone down a bit and be open about the idea of a cross-promotional bout, Ngannou vs. Jones will still be a possibility even in the future.
“I know it’s a fight that can happen if the UFC decides to give that fight to the fans. That fight is always there, and it can always happen. They just have to compromise a little bit… You never know. People change, bro. I’m still hoping for that,” Ngannou said.

Francis reserved it for Jon
As of now, Ngannou has completely cut his ties with the UFC and is set to make his MMA debut at PFL next year. He regrets the fact that he can no longer fight under the UFC banner but if he had one last MMA fight, he would definitely push for Jones.
“I mean, if I had one fight left in MMA, I hope it would be Jon. I don’t have one fight left, I said if I had one fight left in my MMA career, I’d hope it would be Jon,” Ngannou confessed.
PFL founder Donn Davis previously stated that they are willing to discuss the possibility of the Ngannou vs. Jones fight with the UFC. Until then, Ngannou will remain focused on his upcoming boxing match with Fury in October in Saudi Arabia.
