Fans React To EA Sports UFC 5 Cover Athlete Announcement: “Don’t Tell Me This Is What The Graphics Look Like, Bro”

Some fans are not happy with EA Sports UFC 5 renders.

EA Sports UFC 5 was only announced just recently, and fans already have the torches and pitchforks out.

EA Sports has long been heavily criticized for releasing yearly titles that do little to improvement on key issues. Perhaps the franchise that takes the most heat for this is the Madden series. Madden NFL 24 has a mediocre Metacritic score of 65 and a lousy user score of 1.7. Some fans believe the UFC video games have already taken a similar turn, despite not being released yearly, and are skeptical of 5 changing the narrative.

EA Sports UFC 5 Cover Athlete Reveal Panned

EA Sports is set for a big reveal on September 7. To celebrate, the team has announced the cover athletes for the standard and deluxe editions of the game.

It didn’t take long for fans to respond to the renders used for the cover athlete announcements. One fan appears to have mistaken the cover athlete announcements for the actual covers of the game (h/t MMAMania.com).

“This cover is an absolute joke. Such a weird stance for both of them, Where’s Volks’ belt at? They look like themselves but at the same time they don’t (if that makes sense). Respectfully Valentina is very good but imo I don’t think she should be on the cover.”

“This model literally doesn’t look like Shev at all lol… and why is she on the cover anyway while Grasso and Weili aren’t? When you get simple stuff like this wrong I know it’s going to just be another edition of a bad game.”

“Don’t tell me this is what the graphics look like bro…”

An initial report from Mike Straw of Inside Gaming claimed the planned release date for EA Sports UFC 5 is October 27. The report notes the game is set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It looks like EA Sports has once again decided to ignore the PC platform.
