Nate Diaz isn’t just a fighter anymore, he’s a promoter.
Diaz’s Big Announcement
The UFC superstar is back in action at UFC 279 this Saturday and he’d start off fight week with a bang. Diaz announced on Sunday he’s opening up a combat sports promotion of his own, called ‘Real Fight Inc.’
“Real Ninjas. Real Fighters. Real Shit. Real Fight, Inc,” Diaz wrote on Instagram.
The Details
The new promotion will put on events featuring boxing, jiu-jitsu, and MMA bouts. It has been said it will feature fighters from all around the world.
There is no debut event on deck for Real Fight Inc. However, Diaz is planning on applying for his promoter’s license in California in the next few weeks, according to Inside Fighting.
But What About His Fighting Career?
Diaz has quite a lot on his plate, with this new venture and his next fight being against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. But team Diaz claims fight promoting won’t get in the way of Nate’s own fighting career.
“The new venture has no bearing on his status as a fighter, where he will continue to be very active,” a Diaz rep told Ariel Helwani. “Real Fight, Inc. is his expansion into the business side of the sport where he has been a fixture for close to 20 years.”

The latest move has the Stockton native joining the list of fighters-turned-promoters. Two of Diaz’s former foes own MMA promotions. Jorge Masvidal owns two promotions, ‘IKON FC’ and ‘Gamebred FC’. Anthony Pettis recently formed ‘APFC’ which had its debut show in August.
How will Diaz fare in this aspect of the fight game?
