Derrick Lewis Vs. Alexander Volkov In Works For UFC 229 Co-Main Event

The UFC is in works to finalize the heavyweight showdown between Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov for UFC 229’s co-main event as per ESPN.

UFC 229 is set to take place on Oct. 6 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with the main headliner bout features a lightweight title showdown between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor Mcgregor.

Lewis is coming off a disappointing unanimous decision win over knockout artist Francis Ngannou at UFC 226 back in July. ‘The Black Beast’ won eight of his past nine fights and currently riding on two win streak.

Volkov most recently scored a fourth-round knockout win over former champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC Fight Night 127 back in March. Russian fighter Volkov (30-6) currently riding a six-fight win streak that includes four in a row under the UFC roster.
