Darren Till will be facing Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC London this weekend. A fighter who is very interested in the outcome of this bout is UFC newcomer, Ben Askren. Askren flew to London to watch the event live.
The undefeated fighter, Askren, took the stage to participate in a fan Q & A session. He was asked about Till, whom he said would be a match-up that would “go very well” for him. That was when Till stormed the stage, a few moments later to face the man calling him out.
“F— Ben Askren!” shouted the home crowd favorite, Till. He came crashing through the curtains with middle fingers drawn to shout at the former Olympian. Security was quick to step in, stopping any further incident from occurring.
Following this exchange, the UK crowd started to boo Askren. The pro-Till crowd then began chanting “Darren Till” through the building. This didn’t shake Askren though, who began joining in on the chants.
“You guys see his new teeth?” Askren said before exiting. “They look nice. I need to go wherever he went to get some new shiny ones.” Askren is coming off a controversial win over Robbie Lawler, and is looking for a big fight.
Darren Till first must face off against gritty veteran Jorge Masvidal this weekend. This will be Till’s first bout since his losing effort against Tyron Woodley in a title fight. He is set to face the perennial title contender, Masvidal, live this weekend in London.
