- UFC president Dana White gave his honest take on Amanda Nunes teasing UFC return
- Julianna Pena is eager to have a trilogy match with “Lioness”
UFC president Dana White is keen on seeing Amanda Nunes make her UFC return.
The boss likes the idea of Amanda returning
It didn’t take long before “Lioness” responded to Julianna Pena’s callout at UFC 307. In a recent Instagram post, Nunes urged the UFC boss to call her, suggesting that they should discuss her potential UFC return in light of Pena’s call for a trilogy fight.
Speaking to the media in a post-Dana White’s Contender Series presser, White was quizzed for comments about Nunes’ request. According to the UFC chief, the idea sounds good and the Brazilian also looks good.
“She looks good. She looks great. She looks like she’s still in shape. You know where her head’s at and I love that about her,” White said about Nunes. “She’s keeping an eye on who wins the title next. I think she’s teasing that she might be interested in coming back.”
“I love Amanda Nunes. I have an incredible relationship with her,” he continued. “I would absolutely love to see her come back.”
The women’s bantamweight division will be shaken up with Nunes back
With White totally agreeing to having Nunes back, the women’s bantamweight landscape could change once again. As it stands, Pena is determined to take on “Lioness” in a trilogy match to settle the score in their rivalry.
On the other hand, now-former bantamweight champion Raquel Pennington is demanding a quick rematch with “The Venezuelan Vixen,” while soaring UFC star Kayla Harrison is widely viewed as the most deserving title challenger among the top contenders.
