- Dana White addressed the issues plaguing Conor McGregor at The Ultimate Fighter Season 31
- The UFC boss guaranteed that there’s no bias going on in the show
UFC president Dana White has spoken about the issues involving Conor McGregor at The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. While White admitted that “The Notorious” get to demand a few things as part of the deal, he insisted that he doesn’t know anything about the alleged removal of some TUF 31 contestants.
There’s no issue to address
Speaking in his UFC Vegas 70 press conference, White blatantly denied having any knowledge about the accusations claiming McGregor, the coach of his team at TUF 31, kicked out some original contestants and replaced them with his own guys.
“I have no idea. Who gives a sh*t,” White pointed out.
McGregor’s perk
On the other hand, White lifted the lid on the notion that McGregor is getting some special treatment from the UFC. As per the UFC boss, it’s hard to instantly get a fighter who lives overseas to pause everything he’s doing and commit to coaching. Therefore, the UFC let “The Notorious” have the liberty to demand a few things in the negotiation.
White clarified that the same thing applies to all fighters in that regard and not only to McGregor.
“When we’re working on all this stuff and you’re trying to get guys to commit to coach and to do the coaching commitment especially when you live in Ireland, yeah Connor’s going to get some things that he wants. Nobody lost an opportunity here. If there were guys that were booked to do that, we’ll do something with them you know it’s not just like, ‘Hey, see you later pal good luck to you! Have a good life.’ We’ll figure it out. We’ll take care of these guys,” White explained.
Shortly after being accused of kicking out some TUF 31 contestants, McGregor denied any wrongdoing and insisted that he’s just minding his own business which is to make a strong comeback.
McGregor will face his TUF 31 rival coach Michael Chandler in the show’s season finale. It will mark his highly-anticipated UFC return, having been sidelined due to a leg injury since July 2021.
