Dan Ige returned to The APEX on Saturday night in Las Vegas hoping to snap a three-fight losing streak in the UFC Vegas 67 co-main event. Meeting him in the middle of the Octagon was streaking featherweight contender Damon Jackson. Winning four in a row, Jackson looked to get the biggest win of his UFC career and break into the division’s top 15 with a W over the No. 13 ranked Ige.

Round 1

Damon Jackson immediately comes out closing the distance and throwing in the pocket, but a counter from Dan Ige drops him momentarily. Ige heads off Jackson, pushing him to the outside of the Octagon as Jackson continues to look for strikes up the middle. Ige lands a glancing head kick at the 2:30 mark, but Jackson eats it and shoots for a takedown. Ige defends successfully but pokes Jackson in the eye during his escape bringing a pause to the action. As the fight resumes, both fighters are hesitant to make a move. Ige lands a solid leg kick followed by a combination up top. A left from Ige wobbles Jackson and Ige scores a takedown as the horn sounds ending round one.

Round 2

Jackson comes out more aggressive in the second round, attempting to control the center of the Octagon. Before long, Dan Ige has him once again circling the outside of the cage. Ige feints an uppercut and grapples along the fence, but quickly separates. High kick from Jackson connects. Big right hand from Ige busts open Jackson on the left side of his forehead. Solid left from Ige followed by a chopping leg kick. Jackson moves in to throw a combination that lands. Jackson throws a right hook. Ige is just out of range and counters with a left of his own that connects clean and puts Jackson away with a walk-off TKO.

Official Result: Dan Ige def. Damon Jackson via TKO (left hook) at 4:13 of Round 2
