Dan Hooker got back into the win column in a big way at UFC 281 this past Saturday night. ‘The Hangman’ scored a second-round body kick knockout over opponent Claudio Puelles in the main card opener.
It was Hooker’s second win in his last six fights, but his performance gave fans hope that ‘The Hangman’ was officially back in the mix. The victory was cause for a celebration like no other. During his interview inside the Octagon with Joe Rogan, Hooker planted a big fat kiss on the UFC commentator’s head before exiting.
Discussing the incident on Submission Radio with Kacper Rosolowski Denis Shkuratov, Dan Hooker was asked how Joe Rogan’s head tasted. ‘The Hangman’ did not disappoint with his response.
“It was glistening,” Hooker said. “It was talking to me. It said, ‘Kiss me Dan Hooker. Kiss me.’ It tasted sweet. He had the sweat. It was magical. It was like… It was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life. I’m not gonna lie. If I’m being honest.
‘That was a good-smelling man. We’re all taken care of here. Not smelly at all. Delicious.”
Dan Hooker Comments on the Stoppage During the UFC 281 Main Event
While Dan Hooker had a good night at UFC 281 on Saturday, things did not go quite so well for his City Kickboxing teammate Israel Adesanya. ‘The Last Stylebender’ suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of his former GLORY Kickboxing rival, Alex Pereira.
Scoring a necessary knockout in the fifth round, Pereira went 3-0 over Adesanya in combat sports competition and captured UFC gold just four fights into his career inside the Octagon. During his interview with Submission Radio, ‘The Hangman’ discussed the much-debated stoppage that came with just minutes remaining in the final round.
“Yeah, it is a weird line to walk. Even as a friend because I know what he’s capable of, and because I’ve been there in the past.
“Me watching it as a friend, I just want him to be alright, you know what I mean? I’d rather, as a friend and as a teammate, I’d rather it too early than too late. As a fighter, you’re like, ‘Make sure I’m really not moving.’ As a friend, as a teammate, I would prefer it to be too early than too late.”
