Former UFC title challenger Dan Hardy and fellow former UFC veteran Veronica Macedo have gotten married. The pair both announced the news on their respective Instagram pages with photos. One of the photos includes Hardy signing their marriage certificate.
As for Macedo, she shared a photograph of herself and her new husband captioned “Mr. And Mrs. Hardy.” Both have since retired from mixed martial arts (MMA) competition and have moved on to doing broadcast work within the sport.
Dan Hardy & Veronica Macedo In The UFC
Macedo joined the UFC back in 2016, and got off to a three-fight losing streak that included two defeats in which she was finished. However, she picked up her first UFC win in August of 2019 when she submitted Polyana Viana. In her next fight, Macedo was defeated by Bea Malecki via unanimous decision in March of 2020.
That would ultimately turn out to be Macedo’s final fight in MMA, as she soon after decided to retire. Since, Macedo has done broadcast work for the UFC and ARES Fighting Championship. As for Hardy, the 40-year-old was once one of the top-ranked welterweights in the UFC, and even challenged Georges St-Pierre for the 170-pound title in March of 2010. Unfortunately for Hardy, he was unsuccessful, losing a unanimous decision
The defeat marked the beginning of a four-fight losing skid, however, Hardy bounced back with two-straight victories before ultimately retiring due to health concerns.
