If you were plugged in like you should be, you were one of the people awaiting the UFC debut of Veronica Macedo. She’s a five-time USA National Champion in Taekwondo, brown belt in Karate and BJJ with a black in Taekwondo. He striking should be evident with her crazy head kick knockout. However, he debut didn’t go as planned when she fought Ashlee Evans Smith last night at UFC Hamburg. After a back-and-forth fight, Macedo got hazed by some brutal ground and pound. …The results were kinda’ gruesome.

This certainly won’t be the last of Macedo. This was just her sixth professional MMA fight and her only loss. The combination of being fairly new to the sport of MMA and the fact that she looked somewhat dwarfed in the division had a lot to do with it. Well, that and Smith is a badass chick. After her barrage of strikes, it looked like Macedo may have fought that bear from The Revenant.
