Conor McGregor to the BKFC? One gloveless star likes that idea.

Experienced BKFC fighter Houston Alexander believes the former two-division champion would have a lot of success, should he take his talents to the ring. This comes after McGregor virally faced off with Mike Perry to close out the monumental show that was BKFC 41.

The sport of bare-knuckle boxing definitely isn’t for everyone (especially Luke Rockhold), but Alexander thinks this fighting genre fits the likes of McGregor.

“Of course Conor McGregor,” Alexander told TMZ when asked who would do ‘well’ in BKFC. “You know, the guys who know how to strike, who know positioning and then who know how to actually box. A lot of boxers that are out there right now that are on the boxing circle would do well.”

Alexander’s Warning

If you’re a fighter and don’t fit the criteria above, the 51 year-old veteran urges you not to try bare-knuckle.

“If you’ve got MMA guys who just concentrate on just kicking or jiu-jitsu, don’t, please don’t get in this type of sport because it’s gonna expose your boxing and you’re gonna get hurt. I think there’s a lot of guys out there doing it that I think that are qualified, but you just gotta make sure you know what you’re doing boxing wise.”

Alexander On McGregor vs. Perry

Circling back to Conor McGregor, Houston Alexander predicts him to win against Mike Perry in a potential crossover.

“I think Conor [would beat Perry] but he has to really, really pay attention to details when it comes to bare-knuckle.” Alexander continued. “Because there’s a certain way you have to hold your hands up. There’s a certain way you have to position yourself because again, it’s one slight move with this, you can cut your face open, your head open with just one hit.

“So, I think to put the positioning of bare-knuckle is very important. I think Conor has good positioning, but if you, if, if you go in there with your hands down and you’re not keeping yourself true to the standards, you’re gonna get hit and beat.”
