Conor McGregor has given an update on his return to the USADA testing pool.

McGregor just finished coaching TUF 31 opposite Michael Chandler which means the two will fight later this year. However, one holdup in making the fight is the Irishman is still not in the USADA testing pool. USADA has come out and said McGregor needs six months of testing before he can fight, but the Irishman believes he only needs two clean tests.

“I’m not rushing nothing. There’s hurdles and whatnot, but we’re in contact, we’re in constant communication and there’s an interview scheduled and a meeting happens and then it will be official,” McGregor said on The MMA Hour on Wednesday night. “But the six months thing, what they had said was two clean tests and off I go, so that is why, I assume it won’t be too long.”

McGregor Still Not in Testing Pool

Of course, many fighters and fans made their opinions clear about McGregor withdrawing from the USADA testing pool when he suffered his broken leg. Many speculated that he was using steroids to help heal his leg faster and knowing he wouldn’t be fighting, he didn’t need to be tested.

During his time away, Conor McGregor has shared plenty of photos showing him putting on a ton of size and muscle which fueled speculation that he was using steroids. Yet, there is no proof the Irishman used anything illegal and as long as he passes his USADA tests on his return, there should be no concern about his fight with Chandler.

Conor Mcgregor (22-6) is coming off back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier and last fought in July of 2021 when he broke his leg at the end of the first round against Poirier. Prior to that, he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Poirier in his return to the UFC after his TKO win over Donald Cerrone a year prior.
