Conor McGregor Advices Alexander Volkanovski

The former two-weight UFC champion recently took to Twitter to offer some advice to current UFC 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski.

With Islam Makhachev winning the vacant lightweight title over the weekend, many have discussed the possibility of Volkanovski facing the new 155-pound champion next.

One man who has been down this path before is McGregor, who once defeated Eddie Alvarez to become both featherweight and lightweight champion simultaneously – a first in UFC history at the time.

Taking to Twitter, McGregor took aim at both Volkanovski and Makhachev, suggesting a fight between the pair draws little attention from fans.

This led to a friendly exchange of words between Volkanovski and McGregor, which ended with Volkanovski offering to welcome McGregor back to the Octagon.

McGregor then furthered the conversation by offering Volkanovski some tactical advise in a potential fight against Makhachev.

The Irishman suggested that Volkanovski “be a bowling ball” and aim for a headbutt to the chest cavity.

McGregor is currently nursing an injury that has kept him out of the Octagon for the past several months. He’s also busy on the set of his first major film.

However, McGregor added that, before the film even releases, he expects to have had a few more fights under his belt by that point.
