Conor McGregor announced a $1 million donation to the Tunnels To Towers Foundation on Wednesday night.

The UFC superstar joined FOX News on Wednesday to make a big announcement. There, McGregor announced his donation to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation which honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who helped save multiple people during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and unfortunately passed away as a result.

“I’m honored to be on the show. Frank, I’m honored to support you. I just want to say your brother Stephen is a f*****g – excuse me – a hero,” McGregor announced on FOX News. “He’s a hero, you’re a hero and I’m proud of Proper 12 and proud of all the people working behind the scenes of Proper 12 to make this happen. Here is another donation to Proper No. 12. You are a hero, you are an absolute hero, God Bless your soul.”

‘I Work to Give Back’

This is not the first time Conor McGregor has donated to this foundation as he previously donated nearly $4 million to the foundation. The Irishman says in life it is all about giving back and he is honored he is able to help people.

“As human beings, it’s a must to give back,” McGregor said. “I work to give back. I work to support my family, and, you know, this is what we must deal with. If people want to help donate to this great foundation, Tunnel to Towers, you can also, we’d appreciate that greatly.”

As well, the show Hannity – where Conor McGregor made the announcement – announced they would also be donating $100k to the foundation.

During the previous year, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation succeeded in raising and dispensing a substantial amount of $250 million towards aiding the financial needs of families belonging to military and first responder personnel. Additionally, the year 2020 brought with it a momentous event as Proper No.12 Irish Whisky gifted a considerable sum of $1,000,000 to the Foundation. Conor McGregor illuminated the significance of this donation.

CEO Frank Siller announced on the show that Buffalo, New York, firefighter Jason Arno recently died in a fire and left behind his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Olivia. With that, he says this money will help pay off their mortgage.

“You should know that this money that you gave us and the viewers that have helped us for years, this is how we pay off these mortgages,” Siller said.

As for Conor McGregor’s MMA career, he just recently wrapped up coaching TUF 31 opposite Michael Chandler and will fight him later this year.
