  • Conor McGregor called out Nate Diaz for a championship bout at Dana White’s Power Slap League
  • Diaz responded and reminded “The Notorious” that he already slapped the lights out of him in the UFC

There have been a lot of things going on inside Conor McGregor’s head as awaits concrete details about the status of his long-awaited UFC return. The former two-division champ’s latest subject of interest is Dana White’s Power Slap League.

McGregor expressed his desire to fight for the slap league title and he is certain there’s no better opponent than Nate Diaz.

McGregor vs. Diaz slap championship?

In a series of tweets, “The Notorious” asked a handful of inquiries about White’s slap league before ultimately calling for a championship match against Diaz.

“This power slap championships is growing on me. Who doesn’t like watching good quality clatters hahaha,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.

“Is it a flip of a coin who gets to go first? How long do they have to recover before they get to throw their counter? Or is it over if they’re ko’d? Fascinating. I’m attending one of these 100%. Is this Dana’s ? Wtf is this madness Dana hahaha. I’m in,” he continued.

In his unsurprisingly taunting challenge, McGregor said Diaz has “a better chance” of winning a championship in White’s slap league than in the UFC.

“Me Vs Nate on it for the title hahahaha maybe that’s a title you’d have a better chance of coming close to winning Nate you little slapper hahahaha,” McGregor added.

Nate hit back as usual

As expected, Diaz clapped back with remarkable savagery as well. In his reply to McGregor, the Stockton native reminded “The Notorious” that when it comes to slapping, he “already beat” him. He even posted a short clip of their first fight in which he viciously hit McGregor with his signature slap.

“I already beat you at that game too,” Diaz wrote.

McGregor didn’t let himself lose outright, and replied, “Got you back with concussions. Real smacks.”

However, Diaz slapped McGregor again with the harsh truth that he finished him via submission.

“If submissions weren’t allowed I knocked you out way faster than Floyd did,” Diaz said. “But it was Real So I choked you better and faster than kabob did.”

“Boom Roasted,” he concluded.

Diaz and McGregor faced each other twice in the UFC in both blockbuster bouts. Diaz submitted McGregor via rear-naked choke in Round 2 of their UFC 196 headliner. The Irish MMA superstar evened it out with a decision victory over Diaz in their epic rematch at UFC 202.

Since then, McGregor and Diaz have never crossed paths inside the cage again until the latter decided to leave the UFC in November. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if they would end up fighting at slap league.
