Colby Covington On Conor Mcgregor: ‘Khabib Gonna Take Him Down And Pound Him Out.”

Outspoken Welterweight contender Colby Covington has a history of making outlandish statements and no stranger to inflammatory comments. Not long ago, Covington called Mcgregor “coked up little leprechaun” due to his infamous bus attack and recent arrest. Now ‘Chaos’ firing some more shots at Irishman.

Colby who recently won the interim title at UFC 225 after scoring a decision win over Rafael dos, and now on his way for a title unification bout against Tyron Woodley, which is expected to take place later this year.

Covington is also known for his beef with his college roommate Jon Jones and accused him of roid rage. Now he shifted his attention toward Conor Mcgregor.

“He’s pretty good, but I think he’s one-dimensional,” Covington said. “I think in the Chad Mendes fight, you had an out-of-shape 145-pounder come in and take him down and control him for two or three rounds. So you get a bigger guy at lightweight like a Khabib (Nurmagomedov) or even a welterweight, and when you take him down, it’s a lot more weight on you, a lot more power behind those ground-and-pound strikes. It’s a different fight. He lost to Nate Diaz and Nate Diaz was like 1-4 at welterweight. I think Khabib’s gonna take him down and pound him out.”

Sonnen brought up the question, what if Mcgregor comes in a ring to throw down with you Colby said that he could make his bank account great again. McGregor has already fought at welterweight division, lost via split against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 and then won at UFC 202.

Mcgregor currently dealing with his legal issues and negotiating a plea deal to avoid jail time, so his Octagon return is uncertain at the moment, but he’s in headlines to lock horns against undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov once he clear his issues and other short list opponent is Tony Ferguson.

Do you think we can see Conor Mcgregor and Colby Covington throw down in Octagon sometime down the road?
