Cheyanne Vlismas won’t be making her return to the Octagon anytime soon as ‘The Warrior Princess’ announced on social media that she is expecting her first child.

“Well I guess it’s time for me to Announce. I am expecting! The joy these past few months have been knowing I am bringing a life into this world is unmatched,” Vlismas tweeted. “As far as my career goes YES, I will still be fighting. I will now be joining the strong Moms club.”

Vlismas, formerly known as Cheyanne Buys, earned a contract with the UFC in 2020 by scoring a unanimous decision win over Hilarie Rose on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since then, she has made the walk to the Octagon four times, going 2-2 in the process. She came up short in her promotional debut against Montserrat Ruiz but she quickly bounced back earning back-to-back wins against Gloria de Paula and Mallory Martin. Her last appearance came in December where she fell to Welsh prospect Cory McKenna.

Cheyanne Vlismas’ Very Public Divorce From Ex-Husband JP Buys

‘The Warrior Princess’ initially entered the promotion alongside her then-husband JP Buys before the pair reportedly split in 2022. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Vlismas claimed that she was in hiding while attempting to resolve some personal issues in her life. It was then that her ex-husband eliminated all speculation in a post on Twitter, revealing that Vlismas had allegedly left him for middleweight contender Roman Dolidze.

@MMAFighting Hiding from what? In a country no one knows where she’s at? Everyone here knows she has been in Batumi Georgia with Roman, the same guy she has been having an affair with behind my back. While still married.”

Their very public separation eventually calmed with both parties going their separate ways. Cheyanne Vlismas will focus on bringing a new life into the world before resuming her career in the UFC. Sadly, JP Buys has not fared quite as favorably career-wise. ‘Young Savage’ went 0-3 inside the Octagon, dropping fights to Bruno Silva, Montel Jackson, and Cody Durden.
