- Charles Oliveira is thinking much about a possible rematch with Islam Makhachev
- The Brazilian shared his prediction on Jones vs. Miocic
Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira would have to watch and see how things would play out in two of the biggest upcoming title fights. The Brazilian shared his honest thoughts about Alexander Volkanovski possibly getting a rematch with Islam Makhachev over him and how he sees Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic coming down.
Just focused on Improving
Volkanovski is set to unify the featherweight titles against interim champion Yair Rodriguez this weekend at UFC 290. If he wins, Volk said he would try and push for a rematch with Makhachev.
Speaking to The Schmo, Oliveira was quizzed for comments but “Do Bronx” insisted it is not one of his concerns at the moment. Instead, he is laser-focused on improving and working on his game.
“I’m not worried at all. I’m just gonna let my coach Diego do his thing and other than that just gonna keep evolving my game and just excited for what’s to come,” Oliveira explained through a translator.
“I’m feeling super confident, obviously, I deserved it. I did what he had to do to get that win. Just gonna let my coach Diego do his thing and see what’s to come. What I need to do is focus on myself, focus on my game, keep evolving,” he added.
Jon submits Stipe
As for the upcoming heavyweight title fight between Jones and Miocic at UFC 295, Oliveira, who admitted that he is a huge “Bones” fan, obviously picked the reigning champ.
“Jon Jones for sure. Submission… I’m a super big fan of Jones and that’s just how I feel. [Jones] is gonna be able to put [Miocic] down and submit him,” Oliveira predicted.
Oliveira lost his lightweight title to Makhachev at UFC 280 last year. However, he bounced back stronger with a statement first-round TKO win over Beneil Dariush at UFC 289 and his plan is to reclaim his belt once again.
