Chance Recountre wouldn’t leave his last fight unscathed. Unfortunately for him, it was the exact opposite.

The welterweight fighter suffered quite the injuries in his last outing. Recountre faced off against former Bellator Champ Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 274.

Kickin’ It

In the opening round, Koreshkov would unleash a devastating spinning back kick to the body of ‘Black Eagle’. Rencountre tried to seize a takedown, but the aftershock from the kick got to him. Recountre would drop to the canvas, wearing the agonizing pain of the kick.

The Russian would rush to finish Recountre with ground and pound to end the fight. What a highlight.

Now in the hospital, the x-rays would reveal multiple injuries to the body of Rencountre. The spinning kick from Koreshkov did some damage. The former UFC fighter would get 5 broken ribs, a punctured lung (half full of blood) and a bruised kidney.

Rencountre Reacts

All of this might have happened, but Rencountre is still smiling with a bottle of Mountain Dew in his hand. What a guy.

“Feeling pretty chipper for a man with 5 broken ribs, a punctured lung half full of blood and a bruised kidney,” Rencountre wrote on Instagram. “Not the way I’d envisioned my Bellator return playing out but congratulations to @koreshmmarus and a big thank you to all the @bellatormma staff for all their hard work both pre and post-fight.. I’m feeling very well taken care of.

“Shit happens. Thanks everyone for their support and well wishes. Imma get me some metal wrapped around my ribs and come back like Wolverine with the adamantium skeleton. Swipe right for the X-ray because I know y’all wanna see it.”
