- Brendan Schaub has offered an unsolicited suggestion regarding Mike Bell’s 10-8 scorecard on Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko II
- “Big Brown” said he would’ve fired Bell if he was in the position to
Brendan Schaub weighed in on the controversial 10-8 scorecard given by judge Mike Bell in the fifth round of the Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko rematch at Noche UFC that resulted in a split draw. For “Big Brown,” Bell should face it and explain himself.
Brendan would’ve challenged Mike to be transparent
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Schaub said if he would be given a chance to suggest something about the matter, he would flat-out require Bell to defend his 10-8 scorecard in the final round in favor of Grasso and not give Shevchenko in one of the earlier rounds the same score when “Bullet” was evidently winning.
“Quick question for Mike: How did you get to 10-8? then let him explain himself… why they don’t do that? I don’t know… because they have to take some sort of accountability,” Schaub said.
“Let’s say he breaks it down like this is how I got to 10-8… Then how did you not give earlier rounds Shevchenko a 10-8? Very similar. Takedown, got her back, got her neck, very similar so how would you give the 5th 10-8, but not [let’s] say the third [round] that would be my question for him,” he added.
Brendan will then fire Mike
Concluding his take on the subject, Schaub said that regardless of Bell’s explanation, he would still fire him.
“Cool, you’re you’re Mr. 10-8, then it just explained me how you don’t have a 10-8 earlier in the fight that’d be my only question and then I would fire him,” Schaub concluded.
In light of the questionable result, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is now reportedly holding a “special 10-8” retraining session for all licensed judges. It is viewed as the commission’s way of fixing the issue but it doesn’t confirm if they will overturn the result of Grasso vs. Shevchenko II.
