- Brendan Schaub slammed Dana White’s Power Slap League after watching it on TBS
- “Big Brown” stressed that it’s dangerous and could cause brain damage
Dana White’s Power Slap League already premiered on TBS and as expected, the UFC president’s regular critic Brendan Schaub shared his thoughts about it. Unsurprisingly, “Big Brown” wasn’t thrilled with what he saw.
It’s not combat sports
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Schaub came clean and said he watched Power Slap League’s first episode on TBS. According to the former UFC heavyweight, there was nothing sporty about the show and it’s only putting the lives of participants in danger.
“It is a sh*t show! My girl could not stop laughing. She’s like ‘This is real?’ I’m like ‘This is real’… It’s the stupidest… I can’t believe we’re in 2023 [and] this thing is on TBS, on TV. And the guys are alike all out of shape with guts and stuff. You’re like ‘What the f**k?’,” Schaub said. “… Make them take the shirts off. It’s not combat sports with that shirts on… You can’t ‘cause they look like melted f***ing cheese.”
“To me, if ouy’re a fighter, you should know that Dana White, the president of the UFC doesn’t give a flying f**k about your health if these guys can invest in power slap fight league. The only premises of this show is to provide the most CT, most brain damage. And they clearly get concussed and get back up and then get slapped again,” he added.
Prior to this, Schaub had already expressed his disapproval of White’s slap league on Twitter and wrote:
“Checking out the Slap fight league. This is the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen. The fact it’s associated with the UFC sets the sport back 10 yrs. All that being said it’s entertaining. Anyone wanna bet it’s not around in a year?”

No success
Despite generating quite a buzz, White’s Power Slap League turned out to be a flop as ratings showed underwhelming numbers. Apparently, Schaub also noticed it.
“It’s nuts. The people, the public has spoken and it did not go well. Like, low views,” Schaub added.

Indeed, White’s Power Slap League has been having its fair share of negative reviews from fans. As for the participants’ salary, former UFC fighter Eric Spicely said the pay was as underwhelming as the ratings.
