Olivier Aubin-Mercier Annihilates Anthony Romero With Knee, Makes Playoffs – PFL 6 Results (Highlights)

It’s Canadian vs. Canadian in the PFL 6 headliner.

The last fight of this year’s PFL regular season is here as the 2022 PFL Lightweight Champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier meets the debuting Anthony Romero in Atlanta, Georgia.

OAM enters the fight on a seven-fight win streak while Romero is coming off of trio of victories, where in his last fight ‘The Genius’ earned a promotional contract on the PFL’s ‘Challenger Series’.

Round 1:

Romero lands a leg kick to begin the fight. Aubin-Mercier fires a body kick. Aubin-Mercier stuns Romero with a hard right hand. Romero lands a ferocious front kick on Aubin-Mercier which rocks him. Aubin-Mercier tries to find the home for his right hand again. Aubin-Mercier lands a body kick. 

Aubin-Mercier lands a punishing uppercut on the inside. Romero eats a dangerous left hand from his fellow Canadian. Aubin-Mercier puts combinations together with his punches.

Round 2:

Aubin-Mercier goes for a headkick which doesn’t fully connect. Romero and Aubin-Mercier stay active in the striking department before an accidental clash of heads stops the fight momentarily. Romero launches a body kick. Aubin-Mercier lands a flying knee.

The fight is paused due to another clash of heads. Aubin-Mercier lands a sharp kick to the body. Their heads clash again and the referee stops the action for a few seconds. 

The action restarts with Aubin-Mercier honing his body kicks.

Round 3:

Romero fires off a combo of punches to Aubin-Mercier. Aubin-Mercier goes for a headkick but his knee meets Romero’s chin first and sends him straight down to the ground. Aubin-Mercier gets in another shot before the referee steps in to save Romero.
