Artem Lobov Begs Dana White To Keep Zubaira Tukhugov: Don’t Let Him ‘Escape His Punishment’

Artem Lobov Reacts On The Cancellation of His Bout With Zubaira Tukhugov

Last Saturday in the main event of UFC 229, UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov brutally beat the Conor McGregor to retain his title and immediately after the victory Khabib jumped over the cage fence to attack Mcgregor’s teammate Dillon Danis as well McGregor’s camp also swinging in a wild brawl, inside and outside of the Octagon.

Disgusted and sad UFC head honcho Dana white promised to released the goons who were involved in post-fight melee one of the fighters from Khabib’s teammate a UFC featherweight Zubaira Tukhugov, who was scheduled to face McGregor training partner Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 138 co-main event later this month, was pulled off the card.

Lobov was hoping that UFC will be a little lenient on him so we can fight.

Sure cutting Tukhugov from the promotion also rid Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had heated altercation with Lobov earlier this year and sparked the infamous Brooklyn bus attack.

“Russian Hammer” took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, begged Dana White to keep Zubaira Tukhugov so he can punish him when they fight.

“Dana don’t let Tukhugov escape his punishment,” Artem Lobov said in his Tweet on the subject. “Put him back in!”

While Lobov’s wish didn’t come true, according to Ariel Helwani the fight is indeed canceled. “The Russian Hammer” will remain on UFC Moncton card and promotion is currently seeking a replacement for Tukhugov.

Confirmed that the Lobov vs. Tukhugov fight in Moncton later this month has been canceled. UFC looking for a new opponent for Lobov. Tukhugov’s status is uncertain.

Lobov is just 2-4 in the UFC but likely gets special treatment because of his association with McGregor.
