Aljamain Sterling Defeats Pedro Munhoz Via Unanimous Decision After 15 Minutes Of War!

UFC 238 PPV (Pay-Per-View) event is taking place tonight (Sat, June 8, 2019) from inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Welcome to the Bantamweight bout between the former Ring of Combat and CFCC 135-pound champ Aljamain “Funk Master” Sterling and BJJ black belt and ex-RFA king Pedro “The Young Punisher” Munhoz. Brett Okamoto from ESPN thinks this match is “flown under the radar”.

The ref in charge for this contest is Marc Goddard. Here we go!

Round 1

Sterling opened up with kicks, but Munhoz fired back with few big fists at the beginning of the round. Munhoz stuffed the takedown, but Sterling then landed a step-in elbow and a great right hook to the chin.

Munhoz blocked another takedown attempt. A knee to the body by Sterling, Munhoz clipped him with a right high kick, but it seems it didn’t land clean. 10-9 Sterling.

Round 2

Sterling moved away and landed an outstanding elbow early on. Munhoz’s low kick dropped Sterling. Fighters traded many shots, but Sterling changed strategy and circled around his rival. It seemed left hook wobbled Munhoz.

Good spinning back-fist Sterling, Munhoz dropped him with a low kick. Sterling looked tired at the end of the round. Very hard to score, unsure who won.

Round 3

Fighters traded a lot of shots during the first two minutes of the final round. Munhoz responded to rival’s jab with a great body kick. Sterling blocked high kick attempt successfully.

Munhoz stuffed another takedown attempt. Fighters continued to swing bombs until the end of the round. Excellent match. 10-9 Sterling.

Final Result: Aljamain Sterling def. Pedro Munhoz via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
