Alexander Volkanovski is riding with Holly Holm at UFC 300.
After dominating the competition in the Professional Fighters League, winning back-to-back championships along the way, Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison will test her mettle on MMA’s biggest stage when he squares off with ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ at UFC 300 this Saturday night (April 13).
Looking ahead to the landmark event on his YouTube channel, the former featherweight titleholder offered his breakdown of Harrison vs. Holm, saying:
“Kayla Harrison is no joke. Coming in, making her debut on one of the biggest cards. It’s a whole different event. Does it get to her? You gotta remember, Holly Holm, she’s been around. Obviously, she’s at the end of her career. It’s a three-rounder.
“[Holm] has good range. She’s getting better with her work and she’s always been pretty trick to take down. I do think if they grab a hold of each other, Kayla is still going to get her down. She’s a world champion Olympian in Judo. You don’t want to be there with her.”

Holm is an absolute legend in combat sports, dominating the world of boxing before scoring one of the biggest upsets in the history of mixed martial arts against Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 to claim the women’s bantamweight belt. But despite all of her credentials, she still sits as a sizeable +330 underdog against Harrison, whose current ML sits at -425.
Essentially, to win $100 betting on Harrison, you’d have to wager $425. On the flip side, a $100 bet for Holm could win you $330.
“[Holm’s] got great hands. She can finish, but I got a feeling Kayla Harrison’s going to be hard to finish. She’s a bit of a brute. Solid neck. I don’t know if I can see her getting her lights put out,” Volkanovski said.
“The odds for Holly Holm to pull a decision win. I like my underdog picks and I’m going to lean towards Holm in this one. Harrison has got a lot of hype around her. We haven’t seen her in the UFC which doesn’t really matter, but on this sort of stage with it being UFC 300, things are going to be different. Do we see another massive upset like that type she got Ronda Rousey?”
