Abel Trujillo Is Being Held With Bond Set At $10,000

Abel Trujillo, a former UFC lightweight contender, recently charged with felony sexual exploitation of a child and felony obscenity. Trujillo was arrested on May 24, 2019, in Broward County, Florida and being held on a bond of $10,000 in Castle Rock, Colorado. If he found guilty, he could be sentenced 2 to 18 behind bars.

“In Colorado, sexual exploitation of a child is defined as “possessing, producing or distributing sexually explicit material (pornography) involving a child under 18” and this particular charge, as outlined in Colorado court documents obtained by TSN, specifies someone who “possesses or controls any sexually exploitative material for any purpose. Trujillo’s particular obscenity charge is defined as “a person commits wholesale promotion of obscenity to a minor if, knowing its content and character, such person wholesale promotes to a minor or possesses with intent to wholesale promote to a minor any obscene material.” (h/t TSN)

Back in 2007 and 2009, Trujillo troubled with the law and convicted of domestic assault. Despite all those allegations promotion signed him and he fought for five years.

Abel 35, last fought in December of 2017 where he lost to John Makdessi via unanimous decision in Winnipeg. He’s an 11 fight UFC veteran and when he quit Trujillo was riding on the two-fight skid. During his sting in the UFC, he also came up short against top contenders like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
