Ronda Rousey Wins Pro-Wrestling Debut, Via UFC-Style Armbar

Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey entered the ring for the first match of her career on Sunday night April 8 at WrestleMania 34 in New Orlean. ‘Rowdy’ team with Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle against Triple H and non-wrestler Stephanie McMahon.  Rousey appears on the scene in the style of her idol wearing Rowdy Roddy Piper’s leather jacket and his signature kilt.

Midway through, Rousey fired with series of strikes on Triple eventually putting him in an armbar. McMahon broke up the submission but would tap out from a Rousey armbar herself shortly afterward with that Rousey winning the match. Rousey displays an impressive performance in front of more than 70,000 fans, and it was highly entertaining.

Earlier this year, Rousey made her first appearance for WWE at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in Philadelphia.

After Kurt Angle and Triple H fought for a few minutes, Rousey finally enters the ring and the crowd exploded as she dragged Stephanie into the ring through her hair.

Despite no pro wrestling history, Ronda Rousey puts on the best performance in her debut. The brutal armbar finish over Stephanie, leading to a debut victory alongside Angle and a round of celebration with the fans:

Interestingly, UFC president Dana White made the trip from New York to New Orleans to catch Rousey’s debut.
