Former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez has enjoyed his time in BKFC.

Alvarez made bare knuckle debut back in April and scored a split-decision win over fellow UFC vet Chad Mendes. It was a fan-friendly fight, and Alvarez says after that fight, he knew BKFC was the place for him.

“I think it exceeded (expectations). I had a great time in there, we had a good time training for it, it was a new sport, kept it exciting, same as this camp. Learning new stuff, doing a new sport, especially the opponent,” Eddie Alvarez said to MiddleEasy. “I just want big-name opponents and big fights that everybody wants to see and I think we got another one ahead of us.”

After the win, Eddie Alvarez was hoping he would get a big fight next time out and that is exactly what he got.

Alvarez is set to headline BKFC 56 on Dec. 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah against Mike Perry for the ‘King of Violence’ belt. It’s a fan-friendly fight on paper, but Alvarez believes he can outskill Perry.

“Mike’s tough as hell. A lot of people say Mike doesn’t move his head, Mike doesn’t do this. He makes up for a lack of his stuff with his toughness, his grit, his will, that kind of stuff,” Alvarez said. “He cleans it up with that. But, when you are going up against another fighter like myself who has all that and all them boxes are checked, then you are going to have to rely on your skill and your game plan, and something more than grit will get you by. So, I love that he has that and I think it’s a fan-friendly fight because of that, but that is also what I can exploit.”

Not only does Eddie Alvarez think he will be too skilled for Mike Perry, but he believes ‘Platinum’ won’t be able to keep up to his speed which will lead to a TKO win.

“He’s too slow, I’m going to hit him too much. I don’t think, I respect Mike Perry and what he does and his resilience. I’m going to hit him too often and too hard and if he doesn’t stop fighting, I think the ref is going to stop him from fighting, I think that is how it goes. I don’t see it any other way,” Alvarez concluded.

Should Alvarez win, he hopes he can get another big-name opponent next time out.
