Candace Owens has defended Andrew Tate after he got arrested in Romania on the allegations of human trafficking and rape.

Internet sensation Andrew Tate skyrocketed in popularity online with several of his clips going viral in the last year and a half. The outspoken former kickboxing champion never shied away from expressing his views or ruffling some feathers when he needed to. His creative footprint expands beyond the influencer space. He was seen hanging out with multiple UFC stars in October when the athletes were in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for UFC 280.

Candace Owens defends Andrew Tate after his arrest in Romania

American conservative author, talk show host, and political commentator Candace Owens weighed in on the arrest of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan on suspicion of ties with an organized crime group for human trafficking during a segment on the Daily Wire.

“Fast forward to today and I see these allegations of him being a rapist, human sex trafficking, whatever, in Romania. And my take on this is I do not believe that Andrew Tate is a rapist. I don’t. I think that is what people like to accuse men of when they’re trying to take them down.

“Right? Do I believe that Andrew Tate is exactly what he tells us that he is in his videos when he talks about women and he says that he thinks that women should be subservient to men, and that, in his relationships, he says that he has tons of children, and that he says that in his relationships he expects to be the more dominant one. But Andrew Tate is not hiding exactly who Andrew Tate was, is, and always has been.”

An appeal by Tate was denied by the judge in regard to the 30-day detention he was handed.

Owens likened Tate to Hugh Hefner of Playboy

Owens drew a comparison between Tate and the late Hugh Hefner of Playboy to supplement her defense of the former. She also claimed that the allegations brought forth are false.

“Clearly, he communicated exactly what it was and whatever it was that he does in Romania… perhaps the reason he moved to Romania, whatever he was doing, being a modern Hugh Hefner, is legal. I’m taking a guess here. I don’t know.

“I believe that Andrew Tate was always upfront with all of these women in the same way that you go to work for the Playboy mansion, they are pretty upfront about the fact that you’re going to be walking around in a bikini wearing bunny ears. When Hefner was alive, I believe he always communicated that and was upfront.

“Any day when the government realizes that you have money in Romania, if you’re flashing your wealth in the capacity that Andrew Tate did on the internet, the government will make up charges to seize your wealth and that’s exactly what’s happening to Tate right now.”

Andrew Tate has received support from UFC color commentator Joe Rogan, who believes Tate would be better off moving out of Romania.
