WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has publicly revealed the insane payout he received for fighting Francis Ngannou.

Fury and Ngannou had a boxing match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia back in late October. How the fight unfolded was shocking for most fight fans and pundits. While Fury edged out a split decision win, it was Ngannou’s ability to knock “The Gypsy King” down and nearly defeat him is what turned the boxing world upside down. Ngannou’s performance was so impressive that he earned a top ten spot on the official WBC heavyweight rankings.

Tyson Fury Unveils Stunning Payout For Francis Ngannou Bout

In the build to Fury’s planned title unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk, “The Gyspy King” revealed to reporters how much he made for the Ngannou fight.

“Tyson Fury has stated that he made ‘nearly £50million’ for the Francis Ngannou fight.”

Fury’s promoter in America, Bob Arum told KO Artist Sports that he was just as surprised as everyone else by Ngannou’s performance, but he feels Fury unquestionably won the fight (via Boxing Social).

“I was stunned. But I said to everyone that Ngannou had a puncher’s chance. He’s a tremendously hard puncher, and he can put heavyweights down on the ground. I don’t think Tyson was prepared for that tough a fight. I thought he clearly won the fight, but Ngannou gave a good account of himself.”

Arum also expressed his belief that a far more prepared version of Fury will show up against Usyk.

“I really believe that when he fights Usyk he has a bod of work to study and know how to approach him. With Ngannou he was dealing with a blank slate. He’ll be better prepared, but Usyk is a terrific fighter and it’s not an easy out. I think it will be a very competitive fight.”
