Jake Paul has a lot to back up in his next fight against Mike Tyson.

2024 brought about a new kind of super-fight, one that will see the 27 year-old Paul face a 58 year-old, former heavyweight champion in Tyson on Netflix. The two boxers were set to fight earlier this summer in front of the fans in Arlington, TX as well as the millions around the world on the streaming giant, but Netflix’s subscribers will have wait a few months more as Tyson withdrew from their original July 20th date due to a stomach ulcer.

Paul vs. NYC

Paul vs. Tyson is now rescheduled for Nov. 15 with a few months (and press conferences) to go before they meet in the ring. Their latest promotional pitstop saw Paul and Tyson collide at Fanatics Fest NYC last weekend where Paul did most of the talking.

Paul wouldn’t pull his punches when it came to speaking about Tyson nor the fans in attendance in New York City.

“Boo yourselves, New York! Hey, New York, you’re just like Mike Tyson. You were good 20 years ago. F*** you New York.”

Paul On Tyson’s Withdrawal

Tyson couldn’t be more different than Paul with the former heavyweight champion staying calm and collected throughout the press conference, beloved by the crowd for the legacy he has built inside and out of the boxing ring. While Tyson didn’t go too out of his way to take shots at Paul, he did question press conference host Ryan Clark, who described Paul as a ‘young killer’.

“Is he really a young killer?” Tyson asked.

Paul then responded, bringing up his 58 year-old opponent’s withdrawal from their July 20th fight.

“You had to go on your little menopause break and postpone the fight,” Paul continued. “What about that, dog? I was ready before you needed a little break. Your tummy hurt? Your tummy hurts still?

“I feel a lot better now. I feel a lot better.”

‘Who Else Can Do It But Me?’

When asked if he was truly sick or just nervous about the upcoming fight, Tyson joked that he was terrified. On a more serious note, many people have been asking what’s the main motivator behind ‘Iron’ Mike returning to the ring at almost 60 years of age to face a much younger Paul…. Tyson’s answer?

“Because I can,” Tyson continued. “Who else can do it but me? Let’s let’s look at it. Who else is he gonna fight to make this happen? You just have to listen to the fact. We got a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter that ever lived.”

Paul Says He Brought This Deal To Tyson, Not The Other Way Around

Paul’s not just a YouTuber, of course, but a professional boxer with a 10-1 record on paper and a slayer of former UFC stars, who isn’t afraid to take some money fights en route to his dream of becoming a boxing champion someday.

Whether he’s the A-side in this fight or Tyson is, Paul says…

“I brought this deal to this old ass motherf*****. We signed the contract with Netflix and I brought him the deal. So, you’re welcome, my son,” Paul told Tyson. “I’m gonna discipline you like a son. So shut the f*** up with all that ‘need this’, ‘need that’. We brought you the deal. And remember that, too.

“Every time these fighters sit across from me, and it’s YouTuber, it’s Disney Channel, all that s***. And then, you end up on the f****** canvas. And you’ll see, it’s gonna be no different here. I promise you that… November 15th, I’m knocking this motherf***** out and we’re gonna see who’s dead. We will see who’s dead.”
