Paige VanZant Calls Judging of Elle Brooke Fight ‘A Little Bit Nuts,’ Suggests London Setting For Inevitable Rematch

Paige VanZant felt like she did enough to get her hand raised against Elle Brooke.

Making her squared circle debut at Misfits Boxing’s latest event, ’12 Gauge’ stepped into the main event spotlight for a title fight with the reigning and defending MF middleweight champion. Despite suffering a knockdown in the opening round, VanZant stormed back and outpointed her opponent in the later rounds.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to completely erase the early deficit, resulting in a split draw between the two women warriors.

“Obviously we didn’t get the results we predicted [on Saturday],” VanZant said on Instagram. “I really thought that we did enough at the end. My whole team thought we did enough, I think a lot of people did. The judging… a little bit nuts, but it looks like it sets up a perfect rematch.

“I just have to go on her turf and take her belt there. So I’ll see all of you guys in London.”

Paige VanZant and Elle Brooke Set Sights on London For Their Inevitable Rematch

Revealing in her post-fight interview that she had signed a multi-fight deal with Misfits, a rematch already appears to be in the works for when the promotion heads back to London later this year.

Brooke also suggested that running it back in the UK would be the right move.

Not the result I wanted but will take it! Thanks to @paigevanzant for sharing the squared circle with me! We have to run it back in London,” Brooke wrote on X.

With the draw, Brooke moved to 4-1-1 in her boxing career while VanZant remained winless since a January 2019 victory over Rachael Ostavich under the UFC banner. She is now 0-3-1 in her last four outings.
