  • Eddie Hearn voiced some distasteful comments about Mike Tyson’s return at 58 years old
  • Jake Paul’s manager fired back

Jake Paul’s manager blasted Eddie Hearn for criticizing Mike Tyson’s return.

Eddie says he’d never bring a 58-year-old inside the ring

As the Paul vs. Tyson fight continues to make headlines, Hearn was quizzed for comments and unsurprisingly, the boxing promoter criticized the entire thing and even hit out at the people who think Tyson returning at 58 is exciting.

“What on earth are we doing? I’m lucky enough to have a business where we don’t need to do that and I will never do that. Anyone that thinks that [Tyson] should be in the ring right now either doesn’t have his best interests at heart or is an idiot,” Hearn told Daily Mail.

“Mike Tyson left the sport of boxing which was, what, 20 years ago, I don’t know, something like that, he was shot to pieces. You honestly think that a fighter that was shot to pieces 20 years ago should now be coming back? I mean, I know he is only fighting Jake Paul, but it doesn’t matter. Jake Paul’s a powerful kid. He trains every day, he can punch. I get it, I get the business,’ he said. ‘I’m not criticizing them, but for me, no, thank you, not in a million years,” he added.

Paul’s manager exposed Hearn

It didn’t take long before Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian learned about Hearn’s remarks. Bidarian clapped back at Hearn and revealed that the Matchroom boss was just being a hypocrite as he has always been involved in massive crossover fights.

“Eddie, you are involved, man. Involved in a big way. Katie Taylor, your most celebrated fighter, is the co-main event and it’s her biggest payday as you know. So, thank you to Netflix, thank you to MVP [Most Valuable Promotions] and most of all, thank you to Jake Paul for getting it down for you, man,” Bidarian said.

“It’s funny. I remember when Francis Ngannou was fighting Tyson Fury, you were out there saying, ‘This is a circus. This is a clown show. This shouldn’t be happening.’ But as soon as the opportunity came for you to be involved with Anthony Joshua versus Francis Ngannou, you were running so fast to sign that contract,” he continued.

As it stands, Paul is confident that Tyson is very healthy despite withdrawing from the last fight due to medical issues, . That said, “The Problem Child” is certain his much-awaited showdown with the boxing legend is finally happening on Nov. 15th.
