Female pro boxer Ebanie Bridges lost her IBF bantamweight title to Japan’s Miyo Yoshida. Bridges is sponsored by Conor McGregor’s beer company “Forged Irish Stout.”

A tough loss

Bridges entered the ring hoping to defend her bantamweight title for the second time against Yoshida. The pair clashed Saturday (Dec. 9) at the Chase Center in San Francisco as an undercard title fight to WBC super lightweight title bout between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis on DAZN.

Bridges, a.k.a “Blonde Bomber” is famous for her seductive outfits during weihg-ins but she gained notoriety for being an aggressive and fearless brawler inside the ring. However, Yoshida’s right hand has inflicted a lot of damage on the McGregor beer company-sponsored fighter. The 37-year-old tried her best to match the Japanese in the second half of their 10-round battle but Yoshida was just able to figure her out.

In the end, Bridges lost via unanimous decision as all three judges score the bout in favor of Yoshida.

A short-lived reign

Prior to the loss, Bridges was on a four-fight winning streak. She won the IBF bantamweight title after outmatching Maria Cecilia Roman in March 2022. Since then, Bridges became one of Australia’s most celebrated fighters. Her success ultimately led to her partnership with McGregor’s “Forged Irish Stout,” which was her sponsor for the Yoshida fight.

Bridges was only able to defend her title once against Shannon O’Connell. She was originally slated to face Avril Mathie but an injury forced her to withdraw and was replaced by Yoshida in late notice.

The title fight defeat to Yoshida saw Bridges suffering the second loss of her pro boxing career. She now has a pro record of 9-2.
